When do entries close?
There is a limit of 2,500 entries and the event will automatically close when the race is full. In 2016 we had to close before the end of October.
What is the age limit?
You must be at least 17 years old to run the Half Marathon.
Can I transfer my place onto someone else?
Yes, transfers are open until 22nd November midday. You can make the change HERE For any transfers made after this date the new runner must attend registration on Saturday 9th December or Sunday 10th December to confirm the changes. Any runner found running with a number in another runner’s name or without a valid entry will be disqualified and may be banned from future events. This is in accordance with UKA guidelines.

Can I enter on the race day?
Information reference on the day entries will be released closer to event day.
Where is my race pack/number/chip?
If you have not selected to have your race pack posted to you during registration then your race pack containing your number and chip will be available for collection up to 2 weeks before the event from a location which will be announced nearer the time. There will be additional race pack collection on Saturday 9th December at the race venue from 12pm – 4pm and on the race day from 8am.
Where do I manage my profile?
Your profile can be managed on the Results Base Website.
What T-Shirt size am I?
The T-Shirt sizes are detailed below. The size in cm is width / length of the tee-shirt.

How long is the course?
The course is a single lap and is 13.1 miles long.
Is the course distance accurate?
Yes, the course has been officially measured as accurate by the Association of UK Course Measurers.
Are there start zones?
For 2017, our time pacers for target times will be spread out in the start area, start near the pacer for your target time.
Will there be chip timing?
Yes, your timing chip will be fitted to your race bib. Do not forget it! The timing chip is disposable and doesn’t need to be returned after the race, or if you are unable to run. If you do decide to drop out during the event after you have started please let us know!
What refreshments are provided on the route?
Water and sweets will be available at approximately mile 3, 7, 9 and 11 and at the finish.
How long will the course stay open for?
The time limit for the race is 4 hours. The course will close at approximately 14:00. If you are still on the course after this you will be invited into the sweep vehicle to take you to HQ.
When and where does the race start & finish?
The race start will start at 10am at Willen Lake and the area will be open to runners from 8am on race day morning.
Will there be a place for me to leave my bags?
Yes, there will be a manned baggage storage area. You will have a number for bag drop inside your race pack, you will need to use this to deposit your bag and you will need your running number to collect your bag after the race.
Are there showers available?
No, but we will have male and female changing tents.
Where can I park?
Please try and get dropped off if you can or car share. There are free and Pay & Display parking bays around the venue. Some of the parking areas are a 15 minute walk to the start. Please allow enough time to get to the start and drop off your bag. The later you arrive at the venue the further away you will have to park. If you use the Pay & Display car park please make sure you pay the correct amount.
Will there be any refreshments available before or after the race?
All runners will receive post race refreshments. There will also be tea and coffee etc available to purchase from our catering partners.
Will there be secure bike parking?
There will be bike racking for you to park your bike. We will man this area but we would suggest bringing your own bike lock for added security.
I am arriving by train…
Milton Keynes Central train station is the closest station to the start. From the station it is a short 5 or 6 minute taxi ride to Willen Lake.
What medical coverage will be provided?
Comprehensive medical cover will be provided by in accordance with UKA guidelines.
What is the date for the 2018 race?
Information will be posted online for 2018 soon.
Which charities does the event support?
The MKWH team is touch with a few local charities. Harry’s Rainbow, Emily’s Star and Willen Hospice.
Can I run in fancy dress?
Can I use headphones on the day?
No. Due to the nature of the course we must insist that headphones are not worn. This rule will be enforced by the race referee at the finish line and any athletes seen wearing them may face disqualification. This is in accordance with UKA guidelines so must be enforced.
Will I receive a medal?
Yes, all those runners who complete the race will receive a commemorative medal.
Where is the closest hotel?
The Premier Inn at Willen Lake. A 1 minute stroll from the start.
Can I walk the whole distance?
If you can walk 13.1 miles within 4 hours then you are welcome to but otherwise no.
Can I run with my dog?
Where do I sign up to be a marshal or helper?

Can I un-defer?
Once your deferral is processed you cannot un-defer to the original event.
